Light Design
After his professional training as a lighting designer in Vienna, London and New York, Michael Grundner was responsible for the lighting design of countless productions worldwide.
His most recent productions include „Tommy“, „Ghost“ and the world premiere of „Around the World in 80 Days“ at the Musiktheater Linz, „Jesus Christ Superstar“ at the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, „Tosca“, „Aida“ and „La Bohème“ at the Opera Festival St. Margarethen, „Catch me if you can“ at the Theater in der Josefstadt and at the Dresden State Operetta, Matterhorn, „Dance of the Vampires“ and „West Side Story“ at the Theater St. Gallen, and „Footloose“ and „Hair“ in Amstetten.
He also created the lighting design for „Gypsy“ at the Volksoper Wien, „Le Nozze Di Figaro“ at the Graz Opera, „Der Freischütz“ at the Kobe Opera House in Japan, „Don Camillo & Peppone“ at the Theater St. Gallen and the Ronacher, Disney’s „Frozen in concert“ (tour), „Ghost“ at the Theater des Westens in Berlin and Stage Operettenhaus in in Hamburg as well as for the tours of „Luther!“ and „Wahnsinn!“. Since 2012, he has been responsible for the lighting and video design of all José Carreras gala concerts worldwide.
