Director / Book

Katja Thost-Hauser, born in Vienna, has worked at various theaters in Austria, Germany and Canada, including Theater in der Josefstadt, Raimundtheater, Theater Koblenz, Theater Baden (Vienna), Ateliertheater (Theater-Center-Forum) and various summer festivals in Bad Segeberg, Röttingen, Gmunden and Schloßspiele in Kobersdorf. 

She has directed over 100 shows and musicals, including „The Little Shop of Horrors,“ „Line 1,“ and „Into The Woods.“ From 2004 to 2013, she was the house director of the Altmühlsee Festival in Muhr am See.

Since 2015, she has been the artistic director of the Freilichtspiele Seelbach and has worked as a director and writer for the festival since its founding in 2004. Since 2015, she has also been a director at the Theater im Paradiesgarten in Vienna/Grinzing. She has written several plays, including the children’s musical „Lina’s World“ which was presented at the Raimundtheater in Vienna in 2016, „The Christmas Story“ for Theater im Paradiesgarten in 2016/17/18 and „Martin Luther“ (2017) and „Zorro“ (2018) for Freilichtspiele Seelbach.

In 2019, she staged the musical „Jesus Christ Superstar“ at the Theater am Marientor.
